John J. Kelly, Esq. Of Counsel

John litigated for forty years. He was President Clinton’s United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico from 1993-2000, and a partner in two of New Mexico’s most respected law firms, Hinkle Shanor LLC prior to joining the Department of Justice, and the Modrall Sperling Law Firm after government service. Following law school, John was a public interest lawyer. He represented farmworkers, welfare recipients and other low-income clients in New York, and Native Americans in environmental and Indian affairs cases in New Mexico. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service (1969) and the Cornell Law School (1974). He holds the Martindale-Hubbell AV* rating. John is semi-retired and of counsel to the firm. He is available for mediation engagements as a neutral in business, public interest and regulatory disputes, his principal areas of practice.
